Our head makeup artist Steph iindigo was lucky enough to work backstage at one of the Eaton Notts Road Kill Couture fashion show at the torture gardens in Brixton.
Eaton Notts is a brand based in Brighton that cater for those who seek the unusual, desirable and bizarre. They created Road Kill Couture which comprises of garments created out of pelts, feathers and bones of animals that have been killed and eaten as food or have been accidentaly killed on our roads, so all died of natural causes. Its a celebration of the exquisite designs of nature and gives a second life to things that would normally be thrown away or discarded. They hold a strong ethical code no animal was killed to make their collection.
The show was a true spectacle and pieces displayed included Couture bridal wear and beautiful avant garde style evening pieces. It was pressure on backstage as eighteen models needed full make up in a very short period of time but the finish result was breathtaking. The catwalk show was outstanding, it had a lovely theatrical feel to it and received a standing ovation at the final curtain.
